Since Last Time

This last month went by so fast! I kept thinking I would do a post but I kept pushing it off. Anyway, we went to Drew's baby blessing, we went to some family reunions, we went camping, we went to the Cache County Fair, and we applied for some jobs.

Rachel is getting more mobile everyday. She squirms where she wants. She still doesn't quite understand that if there is something across the room, she could get to it. If she sees something too far away she just loses interest. However, when she plays on the floor, she can wind up on the other side of the room. She has her bottom teeth showing now. They emerged last Tuesday, at least that is when we first felt them. Now they barely show if you look really close.

Close up, so you can see her teeth on bottom

Kevin has already got some call backs for job applications he has sent, I'll let everyone know if we take a job... its in the workings. School has started and already, third day, Kevin has been swamped with homework, just from two classes. Plus he is working and has his thesis to finish. He's a hard worker that one :) Anyways, here are pictures.

At Drew's blessing, Raegan let Rachel try on her glasses.

I had to post this, its Drew's Halloween costume, we were just making sure it would fit Drew in October, I'm sure it will be fine since he's catching up to Rachel anyway...

Had to try Rachel's boots out for the fair :)

Rachel likes the grass.

Another new trick...

I find this funny, she always sleeps with her butt up in the air

I got a haircut, the point was for Rachel to stop pulling my hair, but I'm afraid I'll have to shave it off to accomplish that. Kevin will also have to shave his legs, I'm telling you she can pull hair no matter how short.

Dressed up for church

Dinner, she has been getting rice and baby veggies and fruits for a while now. She doesn't care for peas, but fruits go down pretty easy and sweet potatoes and carrots too.

She was giving the cutes smiles, but the flash was making her squint... still cute

She is almost crawling, she gets around pretty good, army crawls a little, pivots quite well, crawling is right around the corner. She gets a little closer every day.

Colorado Trip!

For Pioneer Day we decided to pioneer to Pueblo West, Colorado to visit the Andersen Clan. It was kind of a spurt of the moment deal, and it ended up being way fun! We did a lot of fun things, plus we got to hang out and catch up. Colby and Michelle were awesome, everyone should visit :) Besides playing Power Grid (which Colby and Michelle agree that it is way fun), here are some pictures of some of the things we did.

This was on our way to see Bishop's Castle. We took a dirt road on the way up, it was a really pretty drive.

Bishop's Castle: So this is a kind of a funny tourist attraction. This is a castle that is being built by one guy. He has been building it for the last 40 years!

Michelle and Kylie in front of some of the windows of the castle.

Inside the castle.

This was Michelle's favorite part! Ha ha! This balcony was pretty crazy. We were up pretty high and it was not exactly solid, you could feel it give as you walked on it, and you wished you were 30 lbs lighter...

The Grande Ballroom

Some of the stairs

I kept telling Kevin, "Stop, that is far enough for the picture!". Those steps were super steep.

Front View

I thought this lookout was kind of cool. You can see where it is on the castle in the picture below.

Back view

So I was below taking the pictures and Colby was up there taking a video. Oh boy, that is all I have to say. The video is below.

Jayden and Colby did it too right before Kevin!

On Saturday we went on the Pueblo River Walk. It was really neat.

Colby and Jayden getting wet.

Yay for paddle boats! These were quite the workout. We all we pretty hot after this.

Pick'in on the little kids... as usual.

Right before we went home we got these cute pictures of the kids, it was a pretty fun photo shoot, we figured if we took enough pictures we would get some good ones :)

Jayden giv'in Rachel a kiss on the forehead.

Rachel and Kylie

This picture was pretty funny to take. Probably more fun than the actual picture.

Beautiful girls!

Video Time!

I have to get a bazillion cords to get videos onto our computer, so its very discouraging, however, I finally did it! Oh, and we went camping last weekend too! It was a one nighter. It was nice, we went on a little hike too. Pictures are on Facebook, and I'll probably get them on here later.

This was last night. A little mean, but it was pretty funny. Who needs a cat anyway?

(There isn't any audio on this one) Rachel finally managed to get from her back to her stomach. She has been able to do it on the bed, but she officially got it on Monday (19th).

Daddy's Trick. This is Rachel at 4 months old. I feel kind of dumb, I should have taken the audio off. I really didn't like this trick much, it made me very nervous.

Summer Fun and Rachel Updates

So I had a post started about a month ago, but it was so out of date I couldn't use it... I guess I should do better...

Rachel is doing really well, we've fed her some rice cereal. She laughs quite a bit now. You have to work for usually, but sometimes she'll just get a kick out of things. She laughs when she gets startled, it really funny, cuz she'll get a worried look first, then start laughing.

Sleeping at night has become quite the struggle, it can only get better I guess... I think the worst thing about it is that she was sleeping through the night when she was three months, but only for a few weeks... we'll live.

We also had our 3rd anniversary on the 22nd of June. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, which is very yummy. Kevin got me some kitchen things, and I got him a game called Power Grid. Its kind of a combination of Settlers and Ticket to Ride. Anyway, we've played it quite a bit over the last couple of weeks, and I have beat Kevin... lets just say more than he has beat me. It is the one game I've been able to beat Kevin at. It works out though, cuz when I lose I don't like to play anymore, and when Kevin doesn't win, it just makes him want to win more. So anyway, we've had a lot of fun with it.

Even though we haven't gone camping like we planned, we have been able to go boating with my uncle Mike. Kevin is a natural wake boarder! After a few tries he got up. We'll have to take the camera next time... as for me, I can't remember how to get up... maybe next time. We have had fun at reunions this summer too. I always forget to take pictures, but summer has been good so far.

Here are some pictures:

May

We were at the temple for my cousins wedding.

On Memorial Day we drove my Grandma Andersen to Coalville to decorate graves.

June

Kevin just loves this trick.

She sure can get around for not being able to roll over both ways yet.

July

My grandma was in the hospital for a back operation (doing better now), and so I walked down to see her. Rachel wouldn't eat before I left, and so Kevin fed her this bottle...

4th of July! She got a kick out of the fire works, but eventually fell asleep, they started after her bed time.

Laughing!

I'm not sure why she thought this was funny, but last night she laughed for the first time (she has given us tiny chuckles before, but nothing like this). She went for a long time too, but anyway here is a piece of it.

3 Months Now!

Rachel is growing and growing. She started rolling over again! Right before she turned three months she started rolling over again, and now she won't stay on her belly. She smiles a lot now and I can't believe how contagious her smile is. We love it! She has a precious voice too. She keeps sleeping longer and she's going to bed earlier (we love it)! I never thought she would, but it has just been really gradual. I wanted to wait at least until she was three months before I started making her cry very long when she would go to bed, but it seems like she hit three months, and she actually wanted to go to bed. When its bedtime, she'll sometimes just go right to sleep, or other times she might cry for a few minutes, but she doesn't last long before she's out.

Kevin is done with school until this fall (one more semester until he graduates!!). So he's just working. The summer time should be fun, we want to do some hikes and maybe camping, we will see...

We got new phones and they have pretty good cameras on them. So here are some pictures to enjoy (some are from our other camera too). These are pictures that have been taken since the last post, so she is between 2 and 3 months.

Monta and Rachel

She was kind of a stinker at Grandpa's Birthday party. She was either fussy or sleeping.

Uncle Kade and Rachel

Ok, so she was being super funny. She couldn't decide whether to laugh or be sad, but her sad face was funny, cuz that bottom lip just curled right over.
